Today I scored A winch, an insane winch.

I picked up A winch today, when I bought it over the phone I thought it was A 10k PTO, when I picked it up it took 2 of us to load it . Turns out its A PTO from A deuce and a half

Anybody have any info on this winch?

I did a quick search on garwood, and it definatly is one Seems like 250$ was a good price then

At a quess I would say it weighs between 125 to 150 maby The drum rolls easily when I turn the input.

The wierd part was when I was doing the google search I found a thread on a m35 deuce site, and they mentioned it was A 10k on the front of the m35 I dont know why anybody would put A 10k on A deuce or how A winch this big is rated that low?

If the military used it, it is safe to say that it was used on more than one application. So the rating my be based on the limits of the cable installed on the winch for that specific application.

Meaning.... On a m715, it is possible that they had a 10k cable on the winch. On a m35 (or whatever) they might have installed a bigger cable.

Of course, that is an absolute guess based on ZERO knowledge of the winch. Makes sense to me though...

Nice enough score. Will definitely hang your Jeep in a tree. I don't see the type of Jeep you have so random advice here. If running a T18, put a PTO onto your tranny. The D20 PTO units have some somewhat weak keys in them. A good Chelsea PTO on the side of a four speed is just the shiznitz.

I say build a turret in the roof to pull down the moon. That thing may do do more harm than good on such a "light" vehicle. It may weigh in at over 200 Lbs when the cable is spooled on. Good score though, nothing will be stuck on a trail with you.

A turret on an m714 on 44s with A deuse winch The 715 has A 350 sbcT98 and the 200, but im thinking a 465/205 might be in the future on this one. The 5.38 gears in the 715 will definatly need 44s. Aproach angles dont mean A thing on this rig But a giant zombie plow will I plan on softining the ride of A 1 1/4 ton with weight
