Guess what broke now...... HELP!!
My front body mount bracket is broken. I guess this is common, has anyone fixed one or have any advise how to get the old one off. I see BJs is selling a replacement for $40. Thanks
Btw I tried to upload a photo but cannot get it sized right.

What do you mean broke? PM me the photo and I'll resize it. Or open a photobucket account and you can do it there. Pluse it's easier to load pictures that a way.

wow, I have not seen that before
A good right angle grinder can take the heads off, then a punch to knock them out.

those rivets are soft. I have removed them with a good chisel, or jost grind the heads off and punch them through. What is going to be fun, is putting it back on, I beleive the frame is boxed at that point.

I found the best way to remove rivets is to cut an X on the head with a die grinder and cut-off wheel then chisel them off. I can't see the pictures but it seems to me the installation would be easier than removal.

Well, unless going for the perfect resto look, I don't believe strength would be a problem if you just welded the dang thing up.

I agree, I've fixed at least a half dozen like that.
Usually need to sort of jack it back into position a little, then just weld it up.
If you don't weld or don't want to mess with it, that's like a 20 min job for anyone with some skills and a mig welder.

BJ;s sells a Poly body mount kit. I replaced the mounts on my TJ with poly and it significantly stiffened body roll.
