Ouray Mountain Rescue Donation

Flint and I stopped by the Ouray Glassworks to drop off the donation moneys from the raffle and tees today.

The Ouray FSJers raised $1000 to donate to the Ouray Mountain Rescue!!!!

WHOHOO!!!! You guys ROCK! We also gave them an FSJ Rescue Tonka to keep at the new building!

We also found out that they have really nice tees and baseball hats for fund raising. We bought two tees while we where there today.

Now, they give you a brick for every $100 donation, but we were told that for large donations like ours that they would give us a large bronze plaque. So we'll need to talk about what we want the plaque to read.

I am so happy to have been able to participate in this donation and hugely thrilled that everyone that came to Ouray participated!

We may be cheapskates when it comes to buying parts for our rigs, but when it comes to a worthy cause we all gave everything we could.

Thank you to everyone who bought a tee or a raffle ticket! You guys are the best!!!!!!!

I am wearing my red Ouray Mountain Rescue shirt right now, was the only thing clean when I got home! It's awesome about the plaque! Gotta figure out what to say. Definitely need to get a picture of that when it is up. Thanks again Flint and Krista for the raffle work, and all the vendors and others who donated items ( I like my fire extinguisher and sticker!!) Thanks also to everyone who bought a shirt. I will post up later about possible options for late shirt orders, too tired now though, can't think .

A plaque!! A plaque!! That's just far out.

I would like to lean towards something that thanks the donators, aka "vendors" and of course Beth Ann, and the folks who bought the tickets, and then there's those who spent most everything getting there and didn't have much for tickets and gave what they could.

But, I think something simple in the lines of "FSJ 2007 OURAY INVASION" with maybe a thanks to all involved would be good.
Sometimes when things get too wordy they loose the thought.
After all, it's what you do when no one is watching, right??

Right you are Ralph - I agree that simple is best. I would like to suggest adding "IFSJA" either as initials or spelled out, since a number of members who did not attend also contributed as vendors or T-shirt buyers. I think that would cover the bases.

Pretty cool - a plaque! Can't wait to see it in person. With or without the family, I have every intention of being there next summer.

I was thinking something along the lines of

International Full Size Jeep Association
&
Colorado Full Size Jeep Association

FSJ OURAY INVASION 2007

I'm not sure how much text is allowed for a plaque. We could also include the Sponsors if we have space.

Works for me.
Personally I do not care if the sponsors are listed.
We know who we are and most other folks do also.

As long as it says something other than FSJ I'm happy (don't want to confuse us with FJ, as we ran into so often in Ouray!!)

That is great for the plaque. Thanks Flint and Krista for all your work, and to all the vendors for a great raffle. I like winning stuff. That battery tray will look great in the Jeep.

Amanda and I had a blast, and it was great to meet everybody.

SMS Headliners also had shoulder pads for the seat belts which I now own a set of.

Thanks to all the vendors and individuals who donated.
Thanks to all the people who showed up for a great time to remember.
Got to meet some new faces from this board and a couple FSJ owners not on this board who joined us.

It's nice to know Ouray Mountain Rescue is out there if you need them, which I hope we never do.

Yeah no kidding! You had a few funny stories of glazed over FJ owners that couldnt understand that their might if been something out there before FJ's. Derrrr.

I like the spelled out version also.

Thanks to all that put in the work to help the rescue out.
