New Alternator...now I have a wierd noise

Hey guys,
The alternator went out on my 88 GW. I bought a reman alternator from Advance for $80 and its working fine now, but its making a really annoying siren sounding whine when you are turning low RPMs. Once you get the RPMs up, the noise goes away. What could be making this noise? Thanks fellas.

any thing that makes shrieks or whining sounds in a mechanical part is usually a bearing going bad...i would be eventually that alternator will lock up...i would pull it and take it back and get a different one..

Is it loud? The whine or whistle a little at idle when charging.

when idling, its not bad, but gets loud when you start to accelerate...and then gets quiet again once you reach ~30 mph

Take it back as suggested. The bearing is whining and will fail sooner than later.
