Found this pic today. My X so long ago

Not my ex wife!! My X model wagoneer. It ran great and pulled my CJ with authority. I am trying to mentally prepare for...... The resurrection.
By posting here I am creating pressure and accountability to actually do it. Soon.

1996ish? EDIT: nope, it was 1991ish

Holy Cow!

That is a cool pic. It gave me a flash back also. My 82 looked just like yours.

Please get to work on that thing. I'll be watching for sure!

I sure will. I am trying to finish some projects here. Then I will move the wagoneer to the shop. This thread is my own nudge.

I realized that picture was around 1991 and not 96. I had white "Jolly Jeeper" (PDX Oregon) plaques on the CJ. I was a member of the "Brush Busters" (also PDX) for 25 years and those were green. THAT was a fun club with really great guys. Great memories.

Ha ha, Neither but we did split the house sale. I still talk with her maybe three times a year. We get along well and she is actually a pretty neat gal. Both of us remarried and had I not applied tough lessons learned, I would not have the absolutely outstanding wife Liz that I do now. It takes a lot to put up with me.
Fleetfox,
That CJ is in the garage just 30 feet away. I just figured out I have owned it for 38 years now. Holy moly I bought it when I was 17. I cut my wrench turning fabricating painting teeth on that thing. Rolled it 3 times offroad, hit three cars at one time and totaled it, Ran the rubicon 9 times in it, fixed it how many times now? and it still makes my heart sing. I miss the club stuff and the camping trips. I can't get my buddys to get off their *sses and go again to save my life. So Liz and I run dozens of logging roads and trails here. It's like therapy...

So awesome! FSJs just look soooo right towing. I don't know what it is, just the lines line up so well, I guess. You CJ looks so healthy too! Windshield down and everything!

We should do a poll on how many of us here want to see you start on your X?

I know that you should start sooner than later!

That's a great picture. Always wonderful how an old picture can snap you right back to the time/place it was taken. I, like many others, can't wait to see the work you do on your X, especially after seeing the love and care that went into Sadie.

I keep saying to myself that I won't go as far on mine. Mr, anti it's good enough. I suspect that I am fooling myself again.

I have been trying to find a particular picture of my 82 since you posted this. Couldn't find the one I wanted but found a couple more. I have one of it before the lift and tires but it alludes me. It looked very similar to yours.

First one is before it got painted and with the lift and tires. About 1992

After a while it got a paint job.

Couldn't find a pic of the whole dang thing. Your pic brought back many memories of the old Jeep.

Always nice to see old pictures!

Would be cool to see some more of the cj

Also have a 80 cj5 laying in pieces.
It was my second Jeep after getting the 73 j4000

Started ten years ago with pulling it apart and do a complete overhaul on it and put a Chevy 350 sm420/dana300 with Dana 44/60 from a w200 in , but it needed more and more work so it came to a hold because of more important things.
One day I start again with it!

All it takes is picking up just one part and cleaning it up. Then things snowball. I should practice what I preach.
My first love was my CJ. Thats what got me started on full size rigs. Bought it when I was 17. 38 years ago. I had no money. I sold a Laser sailboat so I could buy it. My dad never forgave me for doing that. He was a boater. I was a jeeper. I would not have done it any different. I have boxes and boxes of pre-internet pictures.
1980 was a good year for the CJ-5. Only two years of production after that and the CJ-5 was done.
