As to which manual trani fits, call Advanced Adapters and ask. If you don't mind the Dana 20 t/c, you could swap in a manual T18/Dana 20 from a J-truck.

Drew, on an 84 he'd have to swap axles also if he wants to use a D20 x-case. The D20 is a right side drop and the 80 and up FSJ have the front pumkin on the drivers side(left) and a centered rear. Be easier to use a Jeep version NP208 from an 80 up which is left side drop.
