The Haynes and Chiltons manuals are ok for tuneups and such, but the factory manual has way, way more detail. Get the factory manual and use the haynes manual as a door stop or to hold up the corner of the bed or something.

The Jeep factory manual is thick and full page size, like a major city phone book. Lots of detail.

This is typical of every Jeep factory manual I've seen, from '71 thorugh '83. Likely the '86 manual has something similar. However, there were not major changes from '83 to the end, so this diagram probably applies.
