    A couple of quadratrac questions

A couple of quick questions for the Quadratrac experts.

    1) What size is the nut on the front and rear output yokes? I have 1/2" impact sockets and 3/4" el cheap socket set. Both of them have side walls too big to fit in the yoke. It looks like the nut is 1 1/8" but I was someone could confirm before I go off and buy a $10 deep well from Sears.

    2) Will the front yoke fit on the rear output shaft? My 5" of lift is requiring a double cardan drive shaft on the rear which I have left over from my Dana 20 swap. I need to have the shaft shortened by approximately 4" and before I spend the money on mod, I wanted to make sure I could pull the front yoke from a spare quadratrac and put it on the rear. This way I will run double cardan shafts on front and rear.

1&1/8" is correct. There are atleast 2 different types of front yokes used on the QT but for some reason I am thinking that there is a 3rd type. The differences were slight but they definately were different.
You know it's bad when your car's on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!

      Thanks,

I've tried my cv shaft on the spare front yoke and fits. What I'm interested in is if the front yoke will work on the rear output shaft, i.e. are the spline counts and the diameters on the front and rear shaft the same?

Also, do you know the torque spec on the nut?

Most QTs have 10 spline front and rear yoke/shaft. There is another that is like 27 spline or something. I forget which shaft. I have only seen 10 spline for the other side. I run the yoke nut to at least 120 ft lbs but I think the spec is 170.
