Thanks for the help! I removed the front covers and inspected the internals today and the splines on the pass side are trashed... time for new hubs.

Make sure you have the valve lash adjusted properly. You must do this on SBC engines, and having the rocker nuts adjusted correctly is imperative to the performance...
