you'll have a piece that looks like this 0-----0 (i will call it the swaybar)it's basically a rod with two bushed ends......

i think if you grind it out enough to fit the lower gear set you jeopordize the case's strength, and as far as enlarging the case with other means of fabrication, I imagine that cost...
