it sounds like someone put a Ford application vacuum advance unit on,which does not work. i went thru this years ago. didn't stall but would miss and backfire so bad it would'nt move in gear.

Hi oil level will have no affect on Case behavior. Just run it a while itsvannold case with old parts so you kinda are stuck with what you got.


I fill these thru the low range unit till it runs...

of course it is. the low range unit is not sealed separately from the main case.


a little extra won't hurt. most of these are way too low on oil.

the fuel inlet needle in the carb is well above the float level,fuel in the bowl cannot get to the inlet to drain...

i had a 670 on my 401. it ran decent. the only change i made was it came with a 2.5 PV and had a bog on transition to power.



so yeah they can run fine. but if you are not off roading more...
