While I can't say for sure which is better the HEI is all self contained. I like the simplicity of it but id say both systems are pretty good.

I wouldnt JB weld it I don't think it would hold up. Now brazing might do it or welding. Take it to a good welding shop they should be able to fix it right up.

Good idea!! I've always found you can get new life out of an old motor if you do this. But it has to be one you can take apart. Works for the wiper motors too fixed mine right up!
