as long as it is a 23 spline output AX-15 with the NP 6 bolt pattern then any dodge 208,dodge 6 bolt 205, jeep 208,jeep 300 will bolt right up but your ford 205 has 32 spline inputs I believe.

actually the adapter was used right until 79 on the QT equipped jeeps where the non QT had a AMC cast case or vise versa but I got my last adapted TH400 out of a 78 waggie with the QT.

jeep 208 to divorced 205 2.61 to1 and 2 to 1 = 5.22 to 1 but you need pass drop front diff. any NP bolt pattern case with 23 spline input will bolt up to your 727. 231 241 208 205 there may be others...

as for hoses and such being in the way you can usually get them off with only taking off the fuel filter and connected hoses out of the way. I would use the felpro rubber valve cover gaskets instead...

Actually the 360 and 304 were factory options for the gremlin ,hornet,concord,AMX,spirit from 71 through 77 for the 360 and 71-82 for the 304. Even the wagons had the option. Google the hornet...
