Had the same problem, try shielding the cable...

Had the same problem, try shielding the cable from the solenoid to the starter from the heat off the exhaust manifold (re-routing or something)

New Starter Problem

I just replaced my starter (AMC 360) with a new one from O'Reilly's. Same brand that I had before. Now, when I start it up, it sounds like the starter gear is still making contact with the flywheel...

Does anyone have suggestions or referrals for headliner panel/fabric for an 83 wagoneer near Colorado Springs? Looking for either a shop or do-it-yourself.

Whenever I let my 83 waggy sit w/o running for more than about 4 days, it takes a can of starter fluid or pouring gas down the carburator to get it to start up again... Has anyone else had this...

i had gas in my oil, the problem was in the carburator (power valve). When I pulled the plugs, they were dripping with gas. had to replace them all.

I have an 83 wag 360 v8, and am replacing the heads. Chilton's says 105-115 ft lb for the 360. hayne's says 85 ft lb for 81 and newer.
which is it?

I am about to change out my hubs to locking hubs on my 83 wag. However, I don't have a lever on the 4wd to 2wd switch yet, and I don't think I am even going to try to get it to work with the vaccum...

do you think the auto tranny in my 83 is the 727 also? I looks the same to me, asthe one I pulled out of the 86. The same 577 marking.

also, will full time 4x4 on everything...

the auto tranny I'm asking about came out of an 86 grand wag with selec trac. 360 v8 that I am selling.

the full time tcase and the full time hubs are on my own 83 wag ltd 360 v8.

How can I find out what kind of transmission I have. It has 577 welded on it.
Also, will it hurt anything to have full time 4x4 t-case with full time locked hubs?(for daily driving)
