Hit the nail on the head with that one! Welcome, before you go buying parts make sure what you have before buying. Early 86 trucks used a lot of leftover 85 parts, especially the ac and axle parts.

i just put my aftermarket ones ive had for about a year now on the truck, not a single problem with them. good quality and dont leave too much fuzzy stuff on the paint when you put them on.

i found the same problem on mine. unbolt the braket holding the cable to the frame right behing the front spring hanger, that will give you a couple inches. it works fine for me even at full flex.
