My 86 registers numbers about 1/4 of the maximum on the PA test. I have all of my emmmision equiptment, and my truck is in average tune.

You really don't need to get all the oil out, but if you want to, just remove the compressor, and pour it out one of the hose fittings. I've converted 10 or so cars to 134a, and I've never drained...

Mine does that too. LEt it run in neutral for 10 sec or so before you engage D or R. I think the problem has to do with the torque converter draining back into the transmission.
