mine has the full length headers....my only concern as you mentioned is the ground clearance....my silencers or mufflers sit outside the chassis and the pipe that hooks under the chassis looks a bit...

hmmmm the spacer plate could be there to adapt the carb to the inlet manifold...buterflies bigger than intake holes....poss an adapter for for fitment of crank case ventilation or some other such...
